Hero’s Xoom scooter is built upon an updated version of Hero’s existing 110cc scooter platform used by Maestro Edge and Pleasure models, featuring the same 110.9cc air-cooled engine which produces 8.05 horsepower and 8.70 Nm at full throttle Hero Xoom 110.
At 109 kg, its curb weight may seem excessively heavy; however, its power-to-weight ratio is quite balanced. On our ride, the Xoom pulled seamlessly, easily reaching 60kph in less than 10 seconds with little effort from us and without breaking a sweat at 80 kph; though vibrations make riding with passengers uncomfortable at time Hero Xoom 110.
Its angular design and appealing details such as H-shaped LED DRLs and headlamps, faux air scoops, an X-shaped tail lamp and an integrated grab rail make for an attractive vehicle, which I observed several people stop to admire on the roadside – a true testament to its designers! I noted many stopped to look at it too – an additional nod of recognition to their efforts Hero Xoom 110.
Digital instrument console with real time mileage indicator, caller ID and SMS alerts is one of its many attractive features, but some features such as multi function key slot and external fuel filler flap that are common among modern scooters are missing from it. Still, this can easily be overlooked since the Xoom boasts both a telescopic front fork and swing arm rear suspension to offer ample comfort during long rides.

After reaching 18 km per hour, its engine starts producing excessive vibrations that reduce comfort significantly; additionally its lack of multi-function key slot and external fuel filler cap decrease convenience quotient. Rivals such as Honda Dio offer superior storage space, engine refinement and ease of access and can outshone the Xoom at its own game Hero Xoom 110.
Hero Xoom 110 Design
Hero has made their entry into the sporty scooter segment with the launch of their Xoom 110. Based on existing Pleasure and Maestro Edge platforms, this bike boasts some never-seen-before features as well as their revolutionary i3S engine technology and promises an enjoyable riding experience.
The scooter comes in three variants – LX, VX and ZX – each featuring premium designs in sports red or matte abrax orange hues. Sharp body panels and faux air scoops add an air of cool to this ride while LED projector headlight and taillight lights add even more sophistication.
The Xoom 110 stands out with its outstanding suspension tuning, making it easy and quick to steer. Though somewhat stiff in feel, its suspension manages to absorb most road imperfections without feeling harsh or unnecessarily harsh – and with both front 190 mm disc and rear 130 mm drum brakes providing ample stopping power, stopping power is never an issue!
Xoom 110 features an innovative digital instrument cluster which offers all sorts of information about your ride. Hero MotoCorp’s entry into the sporty scooter segment, the Xoom 110 marks its entry. Competing against offerings from Honda, TVS and Suzuki that offer 125cc engines such as their popular Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access 125 models; as well as featuring first-in-segment cornering lights on its top end ZX model; its price point ranges between Rs 6-8 lakh Hero Xoom 110.
This scooter features a comfortable dual-seat layout and pillion grab rail for optimal seating comfort and performance. Ideal for first timers looking to purchase their first sporty scooter, its decent performance and mileage provide great value on regular road conditions. Starting at Rs 71,484 ex-showroom Delhi for LX variant and Rs 71,799 (VX) respectively and Rs 76,699 (ZX variant with cornering lights).
The Xoom 110 features a telescopic fork at its front end and monoshock at its rear. Braking duties are handled by either 190mm disc brakes on its ZX variant or 130mm drum brakes for LX and VX variants, with LX having a kerb weight of 108 kg while ZX having an estimated 109 kg curb weight Hero Xoom 110.
